HACA's Response to the Coronavirus

To Section 8 Participants, Landlords, Residents, and Partners:

UPDATE: Effective Tuesday, March 17, 2020, our office is temporarily closed to the public to help curb transmission of the COVID-19 virus.  All in-person assistance at our office remains suspended until further notice, but at a minimum until all Shelter-inPlace orders are lifted.  Housing Authority services will be operational via phone, US mail and e-mail only.  Alameda County strongly advises against person to person contact when other communication options are available.



Landlords — HACA is offering a one-time Signing Bonus of $500 per unit if you rent a unit(s) to participants in our Foster Youth to Independence (FYI) program and Mainstream program (Mainstream serves non-elderly persons with disabilities).  The Signing Bonus

The Housing Authority of the County of Alameda (HACA) operates a number of housing programs administered by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development that provide low-cost rental housing or rental assistance for low-income families, the elderly, people with disabilities, and others, in much of Alameda County.

Contact HACA by phone from 8:00 A.M. to 4:45 P.M. any business day.  HACA's business office at 22941 Atherton St., Hayward, is open from 10:00 A.M. to 4:45 P.M. each business day.  Visitors are seen by APPOINTMENT ONLY.  Appointments can be made onsite. HACA is closed every other Friday.
